Mister Minit

 - Brussels (1957) & 'The Heel Bar' -

Mister Minit started from humble beginnings in 1957 when they launched their first 'Heel Bar' in a Brussels department store in Belgium.

The fashion of the day was stiletto heels that broke by the thousands on the cobblestone streets. Although the heel bar only repaired heels, it was such a curiosity at the time that hundreds of people would crowd around to watch the action.

Policeman had to clear the people off the stairways above, and as a result of the commotion they caused, they were nearly moved out of their excellent location!

About the Opportunity

Due to ongoing demand, Mister Minit has an integral opportunity for a full time Area Manager to join their growing team across Victoria (South). 

Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will be responsible for coaching and developing Mister Minit team members and assisting shops to maximise sustainable commercial returns while strengthening the Mister Minit brand.

Moreover, you will be responsible for overseeing approximately 26 shops, a hybrid of both franchised and company owned, across Melbourne's Southern Suburbs and some regional locations, including Bendigo.  Consideration of changing Covid-19 guidelines with be observed accordingly.

You will be responsible for achieving financial objectives through team development whilst maintaining a high level of consistency and operational standards.

More specifically, your responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Providing a service that exceeds customer expectations on a daily basis;
  • Ensuring continued customer satisfaction and business growth;
  • Developing and coaching team members to transition into franchise management roles;
  • Representing Mister Minit throughout the community, including at conferences & events;
  • Implementing and adhering to operating standards and guidelines; and
  • Ensuring all shops are employing safe work practices and complying with government legislation.

Please Note: Due to the technical intricacies of the organisation, for the first 6 months of your employment you will be trained in these technical aspects and will not be operating as an Area Manager during this time.

 

About You

To be considered for this role, you must have previous managerial experience in a hands-on role, either as a store manager, department/duty manager or area manager, preferably within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry.

As an experienced leader and influential communicator, you will be comfortable engaging, motivating and developing staff and managers, taking personal responsibility to ensure the continued success of each store and establishing procedures for performance management where required.

Business development is a key factor in this process driven role, as such you will need to have experience developing entrepreneurial businesses in line with company processes, particularly in regards to building and sustaining a customer base.

Importantly, as a hands-on manager you will be comfortable assisting on the shop floor when required and be willing to learn all the technical aspects of the business.

You will also have sound knowledge of OH&S Industrial Legislation, Loss Prevention and Technical Standards. These roles operate mainly in the field and require travelling, so a current Driver's Licence is essential.
